Why Bloggers Blog ?

A study by public relations firm Edelman shows that the number one reason bloggers blog is to “establish themselves as a visable authority in their field.” Number two was to “create a record of my thoughts.” Of course, for many of us, there’s more than one reason. The body of the survey was aimed at understanding the potential for PR firms to use bloggers to get their word out.

High Gas Prices: Blessing in Disguise?

Wednesday, October 26, 2005

Now days everybody is complaining about the hike oil prices, but there is something good things about price hikings. I recently read one article which i found really intresting. In business and life, money drives everything; a sad fact of life, but this has become our passion, our motivation, our livelihood. In life, if something is inexpensive, you will take it for granted and write it off as insignificant. It is not until our bottom lines are effected that we actually start to use our brains for solutions. For example, gasoline if it becomes cheap, everyone hopped on board and consumed it like nothing else. We've known for years this resource is limited, unfortunately this has come to bite us in the ass; our economy is so dependent on the resource, we are caught in a vicious cycle. I hope that in future our innovative mind would come up with new alternative source of energy till then we go to conserve our existing energy.

The Video iPod Has Landed

Monday, October 17, 2005

The nano made the old mini look obsolete and the just announced Video iPod makes all of its top-range ancestors look rather fat! The Steve Jobs Diet (only Apples!) has decreased the size of even the 60Gb model well below the size of even the last click-wheel model. The big change, though, is the oft-rumoured video capabilities. The new iPod has a larger screen (specs here) and video capability ... or, at least, some video. that's right, after the Steve Jobs diet, you have only see in Apple-developed video formats:
Video formats supported: H.264 video up to 768 Kbps, 320 x 240, 30 frames per sec., Baseline Profile up to Level 1.3 with AAC-LC up to 160 Kbps, 48 KHz, stereo audio in .m4v, .mp4 and .mov file formats; MPEG-4 video up to 2.5 Mbps, 480 x 480, 30 frames per sec., Simple Profile with AAC-LC up to 160 Kbps, 48 KHz, stereo audio in .m4v, .mp4 and .mov file formats. (Upgradable firmware enables support for future video formats.) Supporting generic mp3s was the best idea Apple had when desiging the iPods; not supporting basic mpeg (and even divx) seems to be limiting the iPod Video's appeal and utility.

4) NYTimes, 'Apple Introduces iPod That Plays Videos': "In endorsing handheld video, Mr. Jobs made an 180-degree about-face, reversing his criticism of the low-quality video that is available on portable, low-resolution devices. For the past two years he has been consistently critical of both the technology and the sociology of portable video - the idea that people will use the technology to watch videos in public places where they are engaged in other tasks."

The Worlds smallest Mp3 Player

Tuesday, October 04, 2005

The DAH-1500i is a mp3 player loaded with features that will surprise anyone while drawing people from the ipod market. It is generically a mp3 player, but it also includes a FM tuner, LED display, voice recorder (that can record FM radio), clock, and stereo sound with five preset equilizer settings. For $130 you get the player with 1 gig of memory and some accesories (for $99 you can buy 512MB). Best yet it is a little smaller than a carmel --it is uner an inch cubed.

While it is the smallest Mp3, or at least the those features, it does not match up to the depth of an ipod's sound (particularly on the bass), it is making a good turn out. When the general masses of people are looking for the smaller Mp3s, the ipod nano has met recent criticizm for its easily broken screen, and so the DAH-1500i has a competitive edge. mobiBLU's DAH-1500i is only available at Walmart, and probably only at its website.

Even though the DAH-1500i does not have 100 gigs of space or the minute perfections of sound, I will defintely buy it for its features that I can really use (If I would have money).
