Blogshares

Sunday, April 30, 2006

I wander around for information and some ideas for a post, then suddenly i get into this website called BlogShares. I found it from extreame tracker of Varad Kalia where I got this link

I never signed for Blogshare even though they had given my blog's analysis so I tried to find out what is Blogshares.

What is BlogShares?

Blogshares provides an attractive set of tools for trend and analysis of blogs. Studying a blog information sheet gives all types of statistics. There are incoming links, outgoing links, tracking graphs, history, press-releases and more. Blogshares is fairly upfront with the ratings and values, unlike, many of the search engine algorithms and other mystery reasons why a blog gets a certain rating or value. People can game the system at blogshares just like they will at search engines. Actually, some might feel it is part of the game to try and change values of a blog.

At the same time, the real value is being looked at by a lot more human eyes and minds at blogshares then probably ever will happen at a search engine, IMHO. There is real value to these trend & analysis tools implemented at blogshares. The tools are not only valuable to the gamers and members but also to bloggers and non-members interested in blogs. The tools are available for all to look through. Tools like these can always be improved and that is one thing they strongly promote at blogshares is improvement and community involvement. The feel of an open-source project is always present.

Want to know more, just visit their website here at http://www.blogshares.com

What Best?

Ok. Best thing and the bad thing, the bad thing first, you will get addicted once you start playing the BlogShares Fantasy Shares Market, the best thing, you get to learn more on how to differentiate things and thoughts, you are playing with other human users in the whole world and you are not playing with a computers AI, the calculation of winning and loosing is rely on both buyers and sellers. Whats goes up or down, it depends on either you sell, you buy or even the blog’s link went up or down or sometimes, beware that it could be due to another players trying to make you sell all your stocks just to buy your stocks of shares.(You’ll get what i mean, once you started it).

Cooolest Pets Paths

Wednesday, April 26, 2006

Pampering pets with designer goods isn't so unusual—and now even your houseflies can get outfitted in style. An entry in a German science-photo competition, this image shows a fly sporting a set of "designer" lenses crafted and set in place with a cutting-edge laser technique. The glasses fit snuggly on the fly's 0.08-inch-wide (2-millimeter-wide) head. Manufacturing firm Micreon GmbH submitted the insect's picture for the Bilder der Forschung (Photos of Science) 2005 competition. Selected images were on display last week in a Munich shopping center.

Can love turn to Hate?

Nadi asked in her blog that can love turn to hate, well I think they both are mirror of each other like Positive-Negative, Matter-Antimatter, Good-Bad etc.... so in my opinion yes love can turn into hate it's all depends upon what kind of situation you are in.

Angels and Demons - Ambigrams

Wednesday, April 19, 2006

Day before yesterday I finished Angels and Demons of Dan brown, and I found it as intresting as heard, actually reading books is not piece of cake for me, Coz I start reading with full of zeal but when I reach at the middle of a book I loose my all feel of reading actally I loose intrest that's why this time I did some homework before reading Da Vinci Code and Angels and Demons of Dan brown which I read one after another and I found it so intresting that I finished Da Vinci Code in 9 hours in three shift and Angels and Demons in 8-9 hours in two shift. It's like an achievement for me.

The most intresting thing I liked in Angels and Demons is Illuminati's ambigrams, so I tried to draw but could'nt, John Langdon is the famous ambigram maker who created all the ambigrams of Angels and Demons book.

I liked all of these but Illuminati's Diamond is the most genius art work of Mr. John Langdon. Just try to click at the text of ambigrams once.

AICTE's joke is called off

Yesterday Camelpost post a comment on ISB graduate gets Rs 1 crore salary offer, and he revealed some astonishing facts about AICTE, IIM and ISB.

IIMB will have a Singapore Shanty 4700 Sqft, 3 hour working day and just one faculty to conduct world class Management Education. I wonder if the above meets so called AICTE specifications. On the contrary ISB which has world class facilities at Hyderabad has been questioned by AICTE about maintaining standards. Its time the AICTE joke is called off. AICTE you stand exposed in your standards.

I do agree with Camelpost thatAICTE is playing some kind games with ISB standards.

Tips for Productivity and Happiness at Work

Tuesday, April 18, 2006

Web developer Matt Raible has posted a list of tips for productivity and happiness at work, like writing stuff down.

Every so often, I get asked what my strategy is for "getting things done". This morning, I had a short session of mass productivity, and on my ride into work, got inspired to jot down a few tips productivity tips.

The section of tips for improving your happiness offers some bold but potentially useful advice, like “If you’re not happy at work, quit.” While leaving a job just because you don’t like it isn’t always easy, it’s sometimes the only thing to do.

Happy Easter Day

Sunday, April 16, 2006

Happy Easter, everyone! Easter commemorates the resurrection of Jesus Christ. It is the most important Christian festival, and the one celebrated with the greatest joy. Spend the day with family and friends and enjoy the love between each other and with your risen Lord.

Easter Day

Easter [A.S. Eastre, name of a spring goddess], chief Christian feast, commemorating the resurrection of Jesus after his crucifixion. In the West, Easter is celebrated on the Sunday following the full moon next after the vernal equinox (see calendar); thus, it falls between Mar. 22 and Apr. 25. The Orthodox Eastern Church calculates Easter somewhat differently, so that the Orthodox Easter usually comes several weeks after that of the West. Many dates of the Christian calendar are dependent on Easter. For most Christians there is a preparatory period of penitence, beginning (in the West) with Septuagesima Sunday, 17 days before Lent, and ending in Holy Week. With Easter begins the paschal season, liturgically marked with rejoicing; Alleluia is often said, and the paschal candle is set up. The five Sundays of this time begin with Low Sunday. They are followed by Ascension Day (Thursday; see under Ascension) and, 10 days later, by Pentecost. The Sunday after Pentecost is Trinity Sunday. Until Advent the weeks are counted from Pentecost or Trinity. A feature of Roman Catholic life is the Easter duty, by which every member is required to receive communion sometime between Ash Wednesday and Trinity Sunday. Painting and rolling eggs and wearing new clothes are Easter customs; there is no development of social festivities comparable with those of Christmas.

How to celebrate Easter:

  • Attend an Easter vigil, when baptisms take place, Alleluias are said for the first time since the beginning of Lent, and the Paschal candle is lit
  • Decorate your home and church in white and gold, the colors of Easter
  • Wear new clothes to represent a new beginning, especially an Easter bonnet
  • Hide decorated Easter eggs for children to find, to represent coming out of the womb/tomb (i.e., Easter's intertwined themes of fertility and resurrection)
  • Take part in an Easter egg roll. The White House first hosted one during the administration of Rutherford B. Hayes

Google Tips: Search A Web Site When It’s Down

Wikipedia researcher Ian Sefferman writes up simple instructions on how to search Wikipedia when it’s unavailable (like it was for a short time this weekend):

  • Instead of searching for something from Wikipedia’s web site, search for it from Google’s, asking only for Wikipedia pages. If you want english pages only, this would look something like so (notice how this uses the ‘site:en.wikipedia.org’ notation to only search within en.wikipedia.org).

  • Then, instead of clicking on the actual link, just click the link for thecached version of whatever result you wanted to check out.

Disabling useless services and speeding up your computer

    Thursday, April 13, 2006

Long ago I read this article which i found very useful and wanted to share but I don't why I did'nt, well here is the 56 way from A to Z of speeding up your dumb computer -

You probably have heard of people telling you that you can speed up your computer by stopping unwanted services. But when you look at the list of services running, you are unsure of what to shut down and what not to. Here's a small guide to help you choose what to shutdown in a list of common processes/services.

    Useless services:

AdobeLM Service – Not all have this service, still its useless, just disable it if you have it.

Alerter – Disable this if you aren’t on a network because you wont receive an alert thus.

Application Management – Set this to manual.

Automatic Updates – Disable it if you don’t require auto updating and patching of windows. Pretty useless if you use auto-patcher by neowin for updating your windows. Saves bandwidth.

ClipBook – Disable this if you aren’t on a network since you don’t need to share anything then.

Computer Browser – Disable this too if you aren’t on a network as then you don’t have to browse and monitor connected computers.

    Krrish

    Wednesday, April 12, 2006

I'm desparately waiting for Rakesh Roshan's new venture, titled Krrish, which is said to be the follow-up to Koi Mil Gaya. Hrithik is doing very hard for this movie, who returned recently from a month long rigorous training in Hong Kong under Hollywood action director Tony Ching, will soon leave for China to train under the same stunt director for a week more Krrish will abound in action and special effect.
    Theme -
Rohit Mehra Jr., aka Krrish, played by Hrithik Roshan, is a man with extraordinary strength, speed and intelligence. He loves the calmness and beauty of natural mountainous and surroundings where he is living. He comes across Priya (Priyanka Chopra), a beautiful girl from Singapore, who has come there for camping and trekking and falls in love with her. Rohit is left heart broken when she finally has to leave for Singapore. When Sonia, Krrish grandmother (Rekha) sees how lonely he has become, she encourages him to go to Singapore and woo Priya back.

Rohit, on reaching Singapore, finds it to be a completely new and fascinating world. He learns fast and adapts to it quickly. He makes new Chinese friends in Singapore and woos Priya. While trying to woo Priya in a circus, there is a short circuit and the tent of the circus catches fire. The circus performers get stranded on top and start screaming for help. Rohit realizes that he can help them. He sees a slightly broken burnt Mask lying on the ground nearby. He dons the mask for hiding his identity and save them in a spectacular manner. This heroic deed makes the Masked Man a hero, and a nationwide search is launched for this new hero in Singapore.

Krrish first named as Koi tumsa nahin which later changed to Krrish. I think Krrish will be one of the greatest bollywood sci-fi movie ever.

My 1st Google Video - Watch It!!!

    A kind and steady heart

A kind and steady heart can make a grey sky blue,

And a task that seems impossible, is quite possible for you.

A kind and steady heart, is sure to see you through.

It may not seem like very much right now,

    It'll do, it'll do.

When you find yourself in the middle of a storm,

And you're tired and cold and wet,

And you're looking for a place that's cozy and warm,

You'll make it; you can never forget!

A kind and steady heart, can conquer doubt and fear.

A little courage goes a long, long way,

Gets you a little bit farther down the road each day,

And before you know it, you'll hear someone say,

    "That'll do, that'll do."

A kind and steady heart, is sure to see you through.

A little courage goes a long, long way,

Gets you a little bit farther down the road each day,

And before you know it, you'll hear someone say,

    "That'll do, that'll do, that'll do, that'll do."

Web 2.0 - The Basics and what it is?

    Monday, April 10, 2006

Today I was surfing through wordpress blogs and I found a very good article on web 2.0 by Shreyas a.k.a Chrono Cracker

Web 2.0 is everywhere around us, simply everywhere. Whether it is the latest news about the World Wide Web, or a review on any blog, or the latest website buzz, Web 2.0 is ruling the world today. Web 2.0 is the most powerful force in the web today, a force that relies purely on innovation than invention and a force that is growing every single second. Yet, Web 2.0 had it’s humble beginnings.

What exactly is Web 2.0? Is it some kind of new software? Is it AJAX enabled websites or is it just innovative services? Nope, Web 2.0 is just a buzzword, a catch-phrase, however you like to call it. Infact after the initial dot cot bust the WWW was suffering as people had seriously no real interest in it and it was starting to get lame. It was then that the concept of “Web 2.0″ really began in a conference brainstorming session between O’Reilly and MediaLive International. Dale Dougherty, web pioneer and O’Reilly VP, noted that far from having “crashed”, the web was more important than ever, with exciting new applications and sites popping up with surprising regularity. What’s more, the companies that had survived the collapse seemed to have some things in common. The dot-com collapse marked that the web was not about just websites, it was a turning point for the whole of the web. The people agreed to call it Web 2.0, spicing it up and making it sound all-important in the first Web 2.0 conference and thus was born Web 2.0.

    Do you believe in Ghost??

    Sunday, April 09, 2006

I don't, I've encounter three times with ghost like creatures, still I don't believe in ghost, reason they simply don't exist. In my opinion ghost is creation of mental illusion, when our brain gets stimulated either by extreme pain or fear or anything else then it creates some kind of optical hallucination.

Take an example of optical hallucination : Every year in average 4000 people in US alone rise after death, and they claim that they have experience the life after death, all those things that usually everybody who rise after death talk about like they saw one bright tunnel through which they went to heaven blah blah... but experiments have proved that when our brain face extreme pain, just like before the death our brain starts showing fixed hallucinating images like bright tunnels, Eden garden etc.

Lets get back to the topic, actually what happens when someone see something which he couldn’t figure out and he feels that it is some kind of ghost like activity then he spread over exaggerated word of mouth and that WOM spreads with extra butter and spices to others this procedure continues. In villages you must have listen lots of ghost encounter stories they all are WOM and nothing else.

But still when I recall my three different encounters with ghosts then somewhere at my heart I do believe that there is something.

ISB graduate gets Rs 1 crore salary offer

While having my dinner last night, I heard in news that stidents from ISB B school bagged more than 1 crore as their annual salary so I tried to do some googling I found following info.

After IIMs, it is the turn of Hyderabad-based Indian School of Business (ISB) to hog limelight.A student of the Hyderabad-based ISB has broken all previous salary records after bagging an offer of Rs 1.04 crore from an Indian IT company."The highest international salary this year is $233,800. It crosses the magical Rs 1 crore and is up by 29 per cent from last year," said Rammohan Rao, Dean, Indian School of Business. This is the highest salary a student from any management school in India has ever been offered.
    Quantum leap
Entry-level salaries to students from IIMs and the ISB have seen a quantum leap in the last two years alone. In 2005, an IIM Ahmedabad student was hired outside India for $1,52,000 per annum. In 2006, an IIM Banglaore broke that record by bagging an offer of $1,93,000.In India, an IIM Ahmedabad student was recruited for Rs 14.5 lakh in 2005. The number went up more than twice in 2006 when a student was hired for Rs 34 lakh. The trend continues at the ISB too. Last year, an ISB student was hired for $1,81,000 per annum for an overseas posting. It jumped to $2,33,800 this year.Within India, the highest offer in 2005 was Rs 20.5 lakh. This year it is Rs 30.33 lakh. But IIM-Bangalore is reconsidering its policy of going public with the students' salaries after toppers this year expressed their unhappiness over the publicity.

    IT, real estate offers
The best offers to ISB students have come from the IT, real estate and health sectors. Female students have done much better than last year and have been hired for top posts like Chief Operating Officer (COO), Vice President and Head of International Marketing."It does feel good to be part of it. I am not looking at Rs 1 crore or breaking a record. But I have got what I wanted. I have got into finance," said Anindya who was recruited by Tata Motors as a manager.Enthused by the industry response to its students, ISB is planning to increase the strength of the 2006-07 batch from the present 345 to 400 plus.

Now India have 10 new billionaires

    Wednesday, April 05, 2006

Today i woke up at 9.30am, this is my standard time and mom got fed up with this timing, at that time my brother was surfing net, he was reading 25 days old article from forbes.com where I read these lines-

India, whose BSE SENSEX market was up 54% in the past 12 months, is home to 10 new billionaires, more than any other country besides the U.S., Notable newcomers include Tulsi Tanti, a former textile trader whose alternative energy company owns Asia’s largest windfarm; Vijay Mallya, the liquor tycoon behind Kingfisher beer; Kushal Pal Singh, India’s biggest real estate developer; and Anurag Dikshit (pronounced “dix-sit”), another online gaming mogul, who made his fortune when he and two Americans took their PartyGaming poker company public in London last June. blah blahh..

Bill Gates retains his title as the world’s richest person for the twelfth straight year, proving that while it’s getting easier to make a billion, the same can’t be said for making $50 billion

    The Top Ten

    1. William Gates
    2. Warren Buffett
    3. Carlos Slim Helú
    4. Ingvar Kamprad
    5. Lakshmi Mittal
    6. Paul Allen
    7. Bernard Arnault
    8. Prince Alwaleed
    9. Kenneth Thomson
    10. Li Ka-shing
Intrestingly I found bill Gates 11.36 Times Richer Than Steve Jobs and Lakshmi Mittal demoted from 3rd rank to 5th rank as I compared it with last year ranking.

Just three years ago there was 476 billionaires. This year the list is a record 793. They’re worth a combined $2.6 trillion, up 18% since last March. Their average net worth: $3.3 billion.
    great...

Qwerty Maniac - The Typo Killer

Yesterday I chatted with Qwerty Maniac (Harsh J Chouraria) in google mail talk, a long ago he dropped one comment in my chat box and today i added his Gmail Id in my account and in my surprise i found him online we chatted for long and in between many times we got disconnected thanx to BSNL shitty connection. I liked his blog a lot but when i admit this to him, astonishingly i found him introvert coz he refused to take credit by saying that -

"what is great abt my blog... plz do tell me, I think its a piece of junk..., I jus post my ideas blah blah... it has non focused category blah blah, ok, lemme ask what was useful ? my blog is strange... doesnt come in personal nor news nor tech... :(("

he reminds me the class of entrepreneurship management in which our prof. HN Gupta once said there are different kinds people, one of them is who do great things but affraid of taking credits like Harsh

In this early morning 2:15 am i discovered that his blog is Top WordPress.com blogs of 04.04.2006

    Finally @ home

Yesterday I went to the registrar Col. T.R. Nial of our institute he is a colonel from 3rd Gr, he is very stirct but I like his work and the way he talks, he has a pet dialouge : Damn it! , :) well i filled up the leave form & I went to him for his sign but he refused to sign by saying first you get the sign of academic cordinator which i could'nt get coz he is very busy with new addmision of MBA 10 batch of our intitute and about my parents how could i supposed to get their sign, he said get fax i said i can't so i could'nt able to sanction my leave yesterday.

Today morning I filled up the form get sign from acedemic cordinator Mr. Prantik Ray and some how I managed to get the signature of my brother who is my acting local guardian, This time I was sure that I'll get sanction but in my strangest wonder the main guy from office he said get new form filled coz there is lots of rewriting in this form....arrgghhhhh I said what the... I mean how i can again get the sign of my brother and academic cordinator coz both are busy person and why the hell they need neat and clean form..... it is sincerely Red Tapism bloody shiitty red tapism which i hate most, i got so anrgy at that time but i did'nt protest much coz they are the almighty keepers during examination period.

so i went to my room silently with lots of anger inside which i burst upon my friends at that time i'd made my mood to flee away to home without any leave application which could cost me only Rs. 600 fine but home is home.... later my roomate Deepak Rose who is also ex student's affair of ex student council of MBA 8 batch, he took my form and went to office for fighting behalf of me coz I'm not that good at argument i'm only good at wrestling and Boxing which i can't do with them. Thanks to him he some how managed to persuade those guys and i got sanction now i'm here at my home sweet home.
